Who this is for
Cancer survivors whose radiation left lasting damage: bleeding from the bladder or bowel, wounds in the treated area that will not heal, or tissue that breaks down after dental or surgical work.
What oxygen does
Radiation slowly destroys the small blood vessels in the treated area, so it never heals normally again. Hyperbaric oxygen is one of the few treatments that grows new vessels into that tissue.
What a course looks like
These courses are longer, often 30 to 40 sessions. Many people come to us from their oncologist, urologist, or dentist. Bring your radiation records if you have them.
This is an approved use of hyperbaric oxygen under Medicare and UHMS guidelines. Whether it is right for you is a decision made with our physician and yours.
Treated at both clinics: Great Neck and Massapequa Park.
